City Reading revisited

Great music on that disc. The talking actually doesn't bother me at all, but it would be nice to have an all-instrumental version. I wonder if anyone has tried to clean it up in an audio program playing with various EQ's and what not to try and eliminate the spoken word. I guess it would be a lot of trouble...

Also the Pat Cobhan Ride and related songs remind me a lot of some of the music in the movie "Raising Arizona", score by Carter Burwell (who also did the music for movies such as "Being John Malkovich", "Fargo", "The Big Lebowski" etc.). Anyone else get that feeling? Not the main theme so much, but some of the other stuff...

I don't know, maybe it just "would have worked" really well in that movie (great film for those of you haven't seen it!).

Yes, as a matter of fact I did this a long time ago and asked a Mod if I could post them here, but I never got a reply back. I've also had some requests for these due to a post about it I made awhile back. Sorry everybody for not getting back to you. I rarely come by here anymore and never check my messages.

Anyway, I've made an instrumental album from all the songs off 'City Reading' and for the most part it turned out well. The only problem would be finding these as I've been through a couple of computers and/or hard drives since I've made them and I honestly don't know if I have them on this computer or not. I'll start digging to see what I can find.

That would be fantastic. Please let us know if you can find it. I'd be willing to host it on rapidshare if needbe.

Although i am personally interested to listen to this instrumental version of city reading, you have to understand that we are not allowed to post this edited version.

It´s copyrighted material, which you can buy. Minus the vocal-parts its still copyrighted.

So please don´t post any links to the files.
See: READ FIRST: Only uncommercial media-files are allowed

Thanks for understanding

Don't post them then...just send me a private message with the goods! For the record I have two store bought copies of City Reading.

Could anyone help a stranger as well? I, too, have the album and do wish the talking would go away on each listen.

i'm interested as well! :)
i've read almost every book by Alessandro by now, and i think he is superb, he's a really talented writer, and i'm a big fan of the joyfullness in his books.
but i've always wondered how that album would sound without his voice.

so if there is any hero out there who can help me: don't hesitate!

I'd love this also..if it exists. I crave anything by air.. but City Reading is difficult for me to listen to because of the voice (sadly-I'm sure I'll mature one day :D)

Hey everbody,

I haven't forgotten about my promise to come up with the instrumentals for 'City Reading'...sorry it's taken so long. I've had some personal issues come up, but I'll have them available someday soon. Hope you understand.

Mods: Of course I won't post them here nor the links, but I do wonder if they would be considered fan remixes of sorts since they will deviate quite a bit from the originals. Just wondering. :D

I´m not a lawyer, so i won´t be able to answer your question as established facts!
I just don´t want to come across some right owner to sue my ass for whatever, so i´m trying to keep this board clean like a washing-machine 8)

the dirt stays in the washing machine, no? it are only the clothes that are clean
but i understand your decision
i'm curious after the result, i can't understand how you can remove only the vocals when everything is on 1 track
