Great! Thanks for the info! I love this band. "In a beautiful place out in the country" is one of my favourite albums ever. I'm looking forward to listening to their new album.

What genre do they belong to?
...Où sont tes héros aux corps d'athlètes
Où sont tes idoles mal rasées, bien habillées...

They do have an electronica/ambient sound, but apparently on this album they use analog instruments, including a lot of guitars. Their sounds are hazy, nostalgic, and psychedelic. Highly recommended to AIR fans who appreciate something a bit more experimental.

IMO the most approachable Boards of Canada's album for Air fans is "In a beautiful place out in the country". This ep (4 tracks) is kind of a summary of electronica. I would also quote "Music has the right to children".

I agree, but I have to say that 'Geogaddi' is my favorite. Very dark, very weird. And have you ever read all the crazy conspiracy theories that have popped up around them? That they're satanists, they're part of a cult, they put subliminal messages in their music, etc. Kind of fascinating.

I am really enjoying this album. Not to raise anybody's expectations, but this is really their most lush and beautiful (read: Air-like) music yet. I seriously had an out-of-body experience listening to track 5 of this album, "Dayvan Cowboy" (and I don't even smoke weed anymore!). I seriously recommend any and every Air fan at least download that track.

I must admit I didn't have any contact with Boards of Canada until this moment ( I downloaded the track :) ) and they really seem wonderful, I'm very delighted with the Dayvan Cowboy. I have to get myself into them more. Thank you for reccomendation, bacteriaburger.

You're so welcome, Airtonia. That's great!

Other tracks I recommend (even though I hope you're going to be a good sport and buy the whole album!):

Peacock Tail
Tears from the Compound Eye[/quote]
